| Fundraising "Dinner and Show" - Wednesday April 11 An Exciting Joint Project of Womenkin & The Outreach Committee Cathy Kidston has visited South Africa where 6 of her 7 weeks were spent teaching a kindergarten class of Zulu children in Eshawe. The private school where she worked was started by the Methodist church to teach Zulu children English. The buildings are on church property but there is no support for the school from the church or from anyone else. There are so many needs ranging from fixing up the retaining wall and the playground to curriculum supplies and learning materials. Cathy has spoken to the Womenkin group and to the Outreach Committee who are jointly sponsoring a fundraising “dinner and show” on Wednesday April 11, 2012. Tickets will be sold for an African dinner followed by a slide show of Cathy’s trip. There is also the opportunity to sell baked goods, craft goods, lucky prizes, and… The planning meeting on February 16 was a success - brought great enthusiasm, ideas with most of the plans in place. We still need more helpers. Please call Cathy Kidston @ 519-843-3704 or Heather Chesney @ 519-763-6738 if you would like to be involved. |
