Support Trinity Programs

Mission and Service Fund

NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, CATALOGUES, OFFICE PAPER, SCHOOL PAPER, PHONE BOOKS AND MAIL

How are these related to the Mission and Service Fund?  You have the opportunity of earning $$$ for the M&S fund by placing these recyclables in the bin which has been delivered to our church property by Abitibi-Bowater.  The bin will be emptied by them once a month, or more often as necessary.  You can also contribute to a greener environment and create more space in your house! And it costs us nothing! Thanks for your help!

Please, no cardboard. Contrary to what it says on the bin, PHONE BOOKS are accepted.

Contact Place

Bring your used inkjet cartridges and cell phones to church and place them in the collection boxes that are located in the Narthex (with the stamps, grocery tapes and soup labels bins).

A used ink cartridge or cell phone can be worth a jar of peanut butter, a carton of milk or even a whole meal when they are recycled through the thINK-food and Phones for Food  programs Contact Place is now participating in.

Habitat for Humanity (Wellington County)

This summer Habitat volunteers will build a home on Morris Street in Guelph for a young mother and her three children. Trinity has been invited to support this build. One contribution we can make is to help raise funds through the donation of aluminum cans. More information is available here. The collection box is located in the auditorium.

Scouts

The 17th Guelph Scouting Groups welcome your donation of Canadian Tire money. Please deposit any donation in the oak box located in the narthex.

Campbell's Labels for Education

by Jean Ross
(Dec 17, 2006)

What happens to them? I collect those that are left at the Church. I cut them and tie them in bundles of 500. When I have 1000, I take them to the Jean Little School. To date, I have given 5000 labels. Through Campbell's Labels for Education program the school is receiving books for their library. Thank you one and all for saving them for a good cause and keep up the good work.

Cancelled Postage Stamps

by Ross Irwin

For many years the United Church Women have collected used postage stamps and similar postage items.  At one time they sold them to a non-church person but he gave up as the quality (what he could sell them for after soaking off an envelope) was not high.  He wanted pretty commemoratives. So the stamps piled up in the kitchen.  I have collected stamps for many years so I undertook to take these stamps and give a donation to the United Church Women at the end of each year.  What I do is go through them and extract anything that strikes my fancy, the balance I give to my son in Ottawa who has a contact to take bulk non-sorted stamps.  If any other stamp collector member would have an interest in doing this project they are most welcome. Just let me know.  I am also interested in stamped post cards, and even postage meter impressions but I don't get any.
